Organisational Diagnosis with a Voice Climate Survey
by John McCann
A Voice Climate Survey can be used across an entire organisation, by individual teams, project leaders and business units to facilitate continuous improvement. It allows you to tap into the opinions and experiences of your staff at all levels on whatever topic you wish to explore.
Climate surveys are particularly useful:
- To diagnose and benchmark employee engagement, and the drivers of engagement
- To provide pre- and post-deployment measures to gauge the effectiveness of organisational development initiatives
- To help identify turnover, safety and legal risks for individuals and team
As a stand-alone exercise, we choose to use the Voice Project Climate Survey because:
- The methodology is developed and maintained through ongoing research at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia
- We can use a standard survey or customise to target a particular management practice
- It is flexible and able to be delivered in a series over a period of time to gauge the effectiveness of a particular organisational initiative
- Survey delivery can be “on paper,” online, or a combination of both methods
- It allows benchmarking of your results against a database of hundreds of organisations and thousands of employees from all industries and professions
