Organisational Diagnosis should be a collaborative process, involving both company staff and external consultants (such as organisational psychologists) in collecting pertinent data, analysing them and drawing conclusions for action planning and intervention. Diagnosis may be aimed at discovering the causes of specific problems, or it may be directed at assessing the organisations or department to find areas for future development and devise interventions for solving problems and improving organisation effectiveness.

OrgPsych provides diagnosis via Voice-Staff Climate Survey, structured interviews or assessment tools.

Voice-Staff Climate Survey

Voice-Staff Climate Survey (Voice) is a product of the Voice Project Pty Ltd which is a research and consulting practice, directed by Dr Peter Langford, based in the Department of Psychology, Macquarie University. Voice Project Pty Ltd has a close and ongoing alliance with OrgPsych. The Voice Project is dedicated to using organisational surveys to give critical stakeholders a voice and improve organisational diagnosis and decision-making. The focus of much of the work of Voice Project team is diagnosing organisational culture and climate, leadership, employee engagement, and customer/client loyalty.

Voice enables organisations to identify strengths and weaknesses of their people management practices. Some examples of these practices include leadership, supervision, communication and cooperation, teamwork, organisational performance and job satisfaction. Management and staff are provided with succinct reports indicating areas for improvement in the short term ‘Quick Wins’ and areas for improvement in the longer term.

Examples of some of the benefits gained by existing clients include reduction in staff turnover, improved communication and cooperation, implementation of continuous improvement and employee assistance programmes, improved supervisory and management practices, improved team work and cost reduction.

Voice Clients

Voice-Staff Climate Survey has worked with a broad range of private, public and not-for-profit clients ranging in size from 20 people to many thousands of people. In the last two years over 50,000 people have been ‘given a voice’.

Some of our better known clients include the NSW Roads & Traffic Authority, Sydney Water, OPSM Group, Roche Pharmaceuticals, Blackmores, Cochlear, ResMed, Wesfarmers, UnitingCare Ageing, Wesley Mission, ANGLICARE, Catholic Care of the Aged, St Joseph’s Centre for Family Services, five Australian universities, as well as a specific research project involving 15 not-for-profit organisations including Catholic Care of the Aged, The Salvation Army, The Spastic Centre, Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Autism Association.

These are conducted onsite and are tailor-made for each organisation.

Assessment Tools

OrgPsych uses a variety of assessment tools including the MBTI , GENOS and LPI.
